Tour Options
Intentionally small. Flexible by nature.
Choose from 3–7 day heli-skiing trips, a private helicopter for your own group, or a lodge buyout in British Columbia’s Cariboo Mountains. We’re a small, independent operation, and we like working directly with guests to find the right fit.
Don’t see the dates, trip length or setup you’re looking for? Get in touch and tell us what you have in mind. We’ll try to build a trip around it, subject to availability.
Trip Lengths: 3–7 Days
A three-day trip includes 2.5 days of skiing, a four-day trip includes 3.5, and so on. Your final half-day is spent skiing on the morning of departure, before your transfer out.
| Trip Length | Skiing Included |
|---|---|
| 3 days | 2.5 days of skiing |
| 4 days | 3.5 days of skiing |
| 5 days | 4.5 days of skiing |
| 6 days | 5.5 days of skiing |
| 7 days | 6.5 days of skiing |
Skiing and transfers are subject to weather and safe operating conditions. Browse our available tours, or ask us about a different trip length.
Classic
Two groups. One Bell 212. Unlimited vertical.
Our Classic program is the heart of Silvertip: an intentionally small heli-skiing program with two groups of up to eight guests, sharing one Bell 212 and a lakeside lodge deep in British Columbia’s Cariboo Mountains.
Come on your own, bring a few friends, or fill a group with your own people. You’ll ski the same extensive terrain, settle into the same lodge, and enjoy the same unlimited-vertical program.

The Classic Two-Group Program
Each ski group has up to eight guests. Both groups share one Bell 212, with the helicopter moving between them throughout the ski day.
After dropping your group at the top of a run, the helicopter can pick up the other group and take them skiing while you make your descent. The aim is a steady rhythm of skiing and pickups, with the helicopter working around the groups’ progress.
Why We Love Two Groups
Two groups hit a balance we really like. While one group skis, the helicopter can move the other. When the timing lines up, you ski down to the pickup and the helicopter is already there or on its way.
With a single group, the helicopter typically shuts down and waits while that group skis, then will need to start up again when the skiers reach the bottom. Our Classic program pairs two groups so the helicopter can keep working and load “hot” keeping us moving. With three groups sharing a helicopter, there is another group to work into the rotation, and wait times for the heli can become more common. We prefer keeping that rotation to two.
What Does Unlimited Vertical Mean?
Vertical is the total downhill distance you ski, added together over your runs. Ski two runs that each descend 2,000 feet and you’ve skied 4,000 vertical feet.
At Silvertip, your Classic package includes unlimited vertical and helicopter time. There is no package allowance that runs out and no additional charge for skiing beyond your guaranteed vertical.
We ski as much as the day safely allows. Unlimited vertical does not mean unlimited daylight or flying in every condition: our guides and pilots make decisions around weather, snowpack, terrain and safety.
How Much Vertical Is Included?
There is no fixed upper limit. Your package also comes with a guaranteed minimum, shown below. Think of this as your guarantee, rather than the amount you have paid to ski before extra charges begin.
| Package Length | Guaranteed Vertical |
|---|---|
| 3 days | 30,000 ft / 9,200 m |
| 4 days | 40,000 ft / 12,200 m |
| 5 days | 50,000 ft / 15,240 m |
| 6 days | 70,000 ft / 21,300 m |
| 7 days | 80,000 ft / 24,500 m |
For example, the guarantee on a four-day Classic package is 40,000 vertical feet. If conditions allow us to ski more, that additional vertical is included.
If the guarantee is not reached because of poor weather or inability to fly, vertical credits apply under our 2027 Booking & Cancellation Policy. Vertical made available to the group counts toward your guarantee if you choose to sit out runs.

Private
Want a helicopter dedicated to your own group, or the entire lodge for your people? We can build your trip around the way you want to ski and spend your time at Silvertip.
Your Own Private Helicopter
Book a dedicated helicopter and fly as one independent group, with your own guide and tail guide. You are not rotating with another ski group: the helicopter works exclusively with your party, with the day tailored to your group’s ability, interests and pace, within the conditions our guides and pilots can safely operate in.
- Private A-Star: For up to three skiers. An intimate setup for a few friends or a small private party.
- Private Bell 212: For up to eight skiers. Bring your own group and enjoy a dedicated helicopter without sharing a rotation.
A private helicopter booking gives your party exclusive use of the aircraft for its program. Exclusive use of the whole lodge is a separate option.
How Private Helicopter Hours Work
Our private programs include a flight-hour allowance, rather than the Classic program’s unlimited-vertical arrangement. You may hear helicopter time described as Hobbs hours: time recorded by the aircraft’s hour meter. It is a measure of helicopter use, rather than the vertical feet or metres you ski.
The hours included depend on your tour length and the time of season. For example, a four-day private package includes:
- Early season and spring: 6 helicopter hours.
- Regular season: 7 helicopter hours.
- Peak season: 8 helicopter hours.
The corresponding four-day guaranteed minimums are 3, 3.5 and 4 hours respectively. Included hours and guaranteed minimums are different: the included allowance is the time in your package; the guaranteed minimum is the separate minimum set out for that tour.
Additional flying beyond the included allowance is charged at the applicable hourly rate for your helicopter. See our Private Program Dates & Prices for the season dates, full hours tables and additional flying rates.
