HeliCat Canada Accreditation

We are very proud to announce that Silvertip lodge is now an accredited member of HeliCat Canada! “HeliCat Canada is dedicated to developing and holding its members accountable to the highest operating standards in the industry; to supporting research programs that will better the land use practices; to educating themselves and the public about current trends in safety and risk management; and to promoting the continual improvement of the helicopter and snowcat skiing industry” (HeliCat Canada, 2017).

Last weekend was the bi-annual HeliCat meeting in Penticton where safety and sustainability were the two main topics. Dale Mcknight, operations manager of Silvertip Heliskiing, participated in different workshops about noise exposure, hearing lose prevention, fatigue in the workplace, wildlife and the helicat sector, and snowcat energy use. Dale also received the accreditation plate on behalf of Silvertip lodge.
